October has passed and as the weather gets colder, we all need an excuse to stay in bed all day. You may not be looking to completely renovate your room and install a fireplace, but there are plenty of ways to make your room nice and cozy! Grab your favourite book and a cup of coffee in preparation for November!

Here are 5 simple ways to make your bedroom cozy:

 1. Pillows, lots of pillows!

Everyone loves pillows! Sink into your bed and surround yourself with pillows. The pillows will keep you warm, supported, and will create a sense of elevation and height in the bedroom.

2. Add a Rug

A furry rug will help keep your feet warm, and will add texture to the bedroom. Don’t get out of bed only to have your feet touch the cold floor! A rug will feel comforting to the touch of your feet, and will make Monday mornings more enjoyable.

 

 3. Dark Colours

 

Dark colours will help you sleep better when the sun comes out! It is proven that it is easier to sleep in a dark and cold room at night. Not to mention, dark colours will keep you cozy! 4. Lighting is always key!

We’ve said it before, and we’ll mention it again! Lighting makes all the difference in a bedroom. A small lamp with a dim light will create a warm feeling. If you’re feeling fancy, install an overhead light that you can dim with the touch of a button.

5. Not Sleepy? Have a Seat.

If you’re lucky enough to have extra space, a sitting area is a neat idea! A chair or two creates a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a nice place to sit down and maybe even read a book.
