3 Myths About Silk
We’ve heard about some common misconceptions about silk, and we’re here to set the record straight!
1. Silk Sheets are Slippery
French Montana is an advocate of this myth with his famous lyrics, “Silk sheets, I be slippin’ off the bed baby”. Don’t be fooled! Often people mistake satin polyester for real mulberry silk – a fabric that is indeed slippery. Here at Cilque, we produce the finest silk products to ensure that you don’t end up on the floor, unless it’s on purpose!
2. Silk Fabrics Do Not Last Long
Although silk is lightweight and may seem delicate, it is one of the strongest materials out there! If you take proper care of your silk sheets and other silk products, they will last you a very long time. Unlike cotton and other fabrics, you will not find yourself having to replace your sheets every few years with the purchase of silk.
3. Silk Must be Hand Washed
As mentioned, it is a common misconception that silk is very delicate. As a matter of fact, your silk sheets can be washed in your washing machine. Read our blog on How to Clean Silk Sheets for further details.
